The Summerville Family YMCA building is a 25,000+ SqFt.  fully functional facility in The Ponds community. This project is spearheaded by a $1 million land donation and a $3 million construction cost gift by Greenwood.
The new YMCA will include:

• A wellness center with cardiovascular equipment and free weights,
• Supervised playground and nursery for children,
• Rooms for aerobics and other instructional programs,
• A full-size gymnasium,
• Full-service locker rooms for men, women and families,
• Athletic recreation fields,
• Organized sports and wellness programs for all ages
• Proximity to prime South Carolina real estate.

The design of the new YMCA incorporates a cylindrical form, simulating a grain bin or silo found on a typical Southern farm, that will be used for the Child Watch area of the facility.  The new 25,000-square foot center will be constructed in a rural, agricultural theme inspired by Old Summerville properties.
