Meet Judy and John Apici. In February 2011 they left Boerne, Tx (near San Antonio) to find a place around Charleston. They searched all around for a place that felt like home. After waiting seven months they moved into their new home in The Ponds.
John is retired from Caterpillar in Peoria, Illinois, where he worked in logistics. Judy is a retired elementary education teacher. They have one son in San Francisco and a married daughter in Springfield, Illinois. Twin grandsons are joining the US Air Force. And a granddaughter is in college.
They have enjoyed traveling in Asia, Europe and S. America. At last they hope to get back into reading, biking, gardening and canoeing. John's family will be able to visit from Rhode Island and Judy has roots in northern SC. It just felt like the place where they were looking for when they drove in to the community. Nature watching and friendly neighbors make it an ideal place to settle and find time to volunteer. Plus they love living close by the YMCA. John especially loves their spinning class.
