Harbor Homes is a Mungo Company and is based right here in South Carolina. Since 1954, the Mungo family has enjoyed a track record of success with a dedicated staff, and has ranked among the nation's largest home builders. All but impossible when working with a large, impersonal national builder, a high level of accessibility to key management and owners is characteristic of this local, family-owned business. And it means they are dedicated to their buyers, not stockholders. The Mungo family has an unprecedented three inductees in the South Carolina Housing Hall of Fame.

Harbor Homes, along with Mungo Homes, its sister company in Columbia, was selected as a winner of the 2008 National Housing Quality Award. The NHQ Award is the home building industry’s highest recognition for quality construction and customer satisfaction.
