The company first began shaping Hilton Head Island’s Palmetto Dunes Oceanfront Resort in 1979 and through its newest communities of Big Canoe in the North Georgia mountains, The Reserve at Lake Keowee west of Greenville, SC, and The Ponds in Summerville, SC, Greenwood continues to build on its reputation for excellence and creativity.
 
At Palmetto Dunes Oceanfront Resort, Greenwood has evolved from the community builder to the resort operator of award-winning amenities, managing the entire vacation experience for its guests—from accommodations to golf and tennis to bike rentals and surf casting lessons. The Resort was recently ranked the #1 Family Resort in the United States by T&L Magazine and continues to receive accolades for outstanding achievement.

Its involvement in the Charleston area has stretched from the creation of Coosaw Creek Country Club in 1988 to Beresford Hall, an innovative waterfront community near Daniel Island that began in 2003, to its purchase of the Ponds property in 2006.
